We are still waiting for the one piece of paper we need to allow our formal application to be approved. We hope it will arrive at Dillon tomorrow. We are still praying that God will provide the $4,600 we need for this part of the adoption. We will not be able to proceed with our home study until this fee is paid. We will just continue to wait upon the Lord.
We also received word today that we have to have finger printing done with the State of Kansas now instead of just the regular background checks. This is apparently a new requirement with the State of Kansas. The bad news: One more thing we have to do. The good news: Loryn does NOT have to be finger printed with the state along with Paul and I (usually anyone 18 or over in the household had to be fingerprinted...she still will have to be for the federal finger prints). Translation...this saves some money...not a lot, but anything helps!
On another note: We just received our oldest daughter's college award letter today. This is a huge piece of our complicated financial puzzle. We needed this to see where we were going to land this fall with more payments for college, etc. It looks pretty good right now for her, but she will have to take a couple of student loans. We continue to pray that she will receive a few more scholarships to help with the remaining costs.
Thank you again for your continued interest in our family, our adoption process and thanks most of all for your prayers!
