Sami's VISA interview was October 1, 2008 at 1 pm Korea time. This means that we should hear about travel clearance in a few days. Our case manager from Dillon International will be making a trip to Korea from 10-5 to 10-10-08. It appears now that she will be the one escorting Sami home on the 10th. THIS IS NOT set in stone yet, but this looks like the plan. I will post as soon as we have all of the solid details.
Also we still really need your prayers that the adoption matching grant will be met before the deadline. I also want to make this statement about the matching grant. Our immediate family is not allowed to make a contribution to the grant. It is against the IRS guidelines. Since the matching grant is being provided by a non-profit foundation, the foundation must adhere to the IRS regulations. The account is set up for the child's adoption and the money is directed for her adoption expenses. The money is not collected for the family, but on behalf of the child. This is why it is so important that anyone who feels called to donate, should consider doing so, no matter how small or large the donation. Even the smallest donation can make a big difference, especially since it will be matched!!
Thank you for your continued prayers!
